in the garden September 2

I keep racking my brain to think of what our weekly backyard activity will be called in the fall and winter. It is still in the garden I believe - even if it is covered by a blanket of snow...hmm.
Our time in the garden today was interesting. There were a hosts of reasons:
1. the hail killed most of our plants/flowers weeks ago.
2. I followed up by killing our (pretty) healthy grass
3. we have mushrooms growing on the lawn...lots too
4. the kids are just getting back into the groove

Here are some photos
