You'll notice that 2 candles are lit. One candle belongs to MB, whose b-day was in April, and the other (of course) is MM's. As we go along we light more candles for our friends.
The pumpkins (shown in the ring) are a gift from MM to his friends. Next week we will be doing some funky stuff with those little pumpkins- thanks to MM's mom. I must say this one takes the cake for party favours ;)
For our first b-day of the season we shook it up, and made a different kind of chocolate pudding. That would be chocolate avocado pudding to be precise. The kids had seconds, and probably would have had more if I had more to give :)
We started the no-cake tradition when food intolerance kept popping up, and we've enjoyed it (from what I see). I'm glad that we do not have the tradition of cake and sweets for our celebrations, plus, we celebrate quite a bit, and sweets do pop up every now and then.
The pudding looked just like regular chocolate pudding, and the kids were ecstatic to see anything "chocolatey", which is a bonus, because they got a nice treat with some nutritional benefits - you can't ask for more.
Even though the recipe was planned ahead of time, we also went to Owl's Nest Bookstore that day, so after rushing home I grabbed all the ingredients and got the dessert to the children in record time- MM had to go to school so we had all of 45 minutes with no time to spare.

Happy b-day MM. We love you, and we hope 2017 will be an awesome year for you!
