The best holiday gifts are simple, and more importantly, useful. Before starting Small Wonders, we (as a family) celebrated few holidays. Now, I personally love to celebrate most holidays with my little group. Whatever the occasion, I always try to find gifts that celebrate, family, food, friendship, and fun. I think it's important to steer away from big and extravagant; sometimes small and meaningful is the way to go.
Here's our Gift Round Up/Wishlist for 2016 (friends & family take note) *wink*
A silly book to read with friends
Turkey Claus, by Wendi Silvano
Turkey is in trouble...again. He made it through Thanksgiving without becoming a turkey dinner, but now it's almost Christmas, and guess what's on the menu? Turkey decides the only thing to do is to ask Santa for help. He sets off for the North Pole, but getting in to see Santa on Christmas Eve isn't as easy as Turkey expected. It's going to take all his ideas- and his clever disguises- to find a way into Santa's house. After many hilarious attempts, Turkey comes up with the perfect disguise, and Santa has the perfect solution!
Take out Pizza
I'm dreaming of a nice quiet evening spent with family, over a pizza, or two. You? We all know the original pizza joints, but have you tried PZA Parlour? You must try their take out pizzas!
A Photo session with Chloe
Chloe who? Chloe Buie, of course! Okay, this has been on MY wish-list since the beginning of the year (hope my family is reading this). Holidays, birthdays, weddings - you name it, Chloe does it. Chloe is an amazing photographer, who is inspired by each family or individual that she connects with. I love her spirit.
Something for the tree
Have you seen Kathy Lycka's whimisical ornaments? She even has a Star Wars collection this season.
I have already purchased one for a friend, and it is very beautiful. If you are not down for ornaments, Kathy has a shop full of fun whimsical cards, jewelry, and prints. Take a look!
Sweet Treats (that everyone can eat)
I was lucky to stumble, virtually that is, upon Sarah & Vanessa's Instagram page while searching for gluten-free in Calgary. These ladies are the force behind Baked from the Heart Calgary. They have a nice gluten-free and vegan menu that is literally sweetness. The only question is, how to choose from their yummy treats, and how much weight am I likely to put on, now that I can actually indulge in cupcake goodness, any day, anytime?!
Christmas Cheer!
We like to get out and see the beauty of the city in the holiday season.

“A hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank…but the world may be a better place because I made a difference in the life of a child.”
