April 2015 book of the month

Vif Comme un Grillon, by Audrey Wood, and Si Petit... by Jonathan Bentley are our April books of the month. In the books, two little boys explore growing up, and finds out what makes them special.

We have read both books and the kids can't get enough. Vif Comme un Grillon has big colourful pictures and simple text; it has a nice rhythm, and even the younger kids can't wait to turn the page.
Si Petit..., has a more complex vocab is a great read for kids. The pictures are comedic and fascinating. The kids understand some of what is going on just by looking at them, and like Vif Comme un Grillon, they can't wait to see what will happen next.
Great books!

This month the kids will be learning all about themselves (well, as much as we can learn). We are going to focus on feeling, and emotions this month. We're also going to learn a lot of French words.

English versions of these books ¨Quick As A Cricket and Little Big.

“A hundred years from now, it will not matter what kind of car I drove, what kind of house I lived in, how much money I had in the bank…but the world may be a better place because I made a difference in the life of a child.”
